कादम्बिनी में प्राण तब वापस आए जब उसे जलाने के लिए शमशान में रखकर, लोग लकड़ी लेने चले गए। अपने आस पास किसी को ना पाकर कादंबनी को लगा कि वह मर चुकी है और जीवन तथा मृत्यु के बीच लटक रही है, उसकी इसी जीवन और मृत्यु के बीच की यात्रा की कहानी।

एक ऐसी मुसलमान राजकुमारी की कहानी जिसने अपनी सेना के हिंदु सेनापति के लिए अपना धर्म और राज्य सब छोड़ दिया लेकिन अपने प्रेम को ना प्राप्त कर सकी।

Two neighbors were very competitive and jealous about each other. They were not content about what they had, thinking, must be others are having better than them. The story portrays the moral, how the jealousy takes away all the peace of mind and destroys the contentment and happiness of mind in general.

महामाया और राजीव लोचन बचपन के साथी हैं। राजीव महामाया से प्रेम करता है किंतु एक दिन महामाया और राजीव को साथ देख महामाया का भाई उसका विवाह एक मरनासन्न बूढ़े से करवा देता है, जिसके अगले ही दिन महामाया विधवा हो जाती है तथा किसी तरह सती प्रथा के नाम पर जलती हुई चिता से बचकर भागने में सफल हो जाती है। वह राजीव के साथ इस शर्त पर रहना मंजूर करती है कि वह जीवन भर उसका अवगुंठन नहीं हटाएगा। एक रात राजीव खुद को रोक नहीं पाता और महामाया को हमेशा के लिए खो देता है।

“Chitrokor” is a story of a solvent housewife, a mom whose life is dedicated in pursuing creative art as part of her hobby. She got her husband in support of her passion. But after her husband’s death the relative whose house she was sheltered, used to believe in materialism. And he used to preach her son that money making is the only way that’s meaningful in life. First the lady tried to live with her passion even exposing her hobby to her child hiding from the shelter giver. But when he came to know and resisted vehemently, she didn’t even hesitate to leave the house with her child for the sake of her passion on art.

A kabuliwala, an merchant from Kabul used to sell the dry fruits in a village. He developed a fatherly relationship with a little girl and used to provide nuts and resins free of cost. That’s the way he was trying to remember his own little daughter. One day he went to jail for stabbing a villager. After returning from jail he figured out the fact that time flew by then and the little girl is not little anymore. He felt lost and depressed thinking that he will have the same experience with his own little daughter and it would be hard to connect with her following the same reason. 

Khata” is a story of a girl who in those days got the opportunity of schooling while women’s education was not that very common. The little girl was enthusiastically writing everywhere that was not very much appreciated by his brother as she was messing up his writing notebook. Once she got married she was taunted and prevented from writing by her sister-in-law and her husband who had himself a strong passion for writing. At the end she was forced to stop writing. Her fate was bound to surrender herself to the hostile situation. 

 “Poyla Nombor” is a story of an educated man who didn’t give any time recognizing wife’s wants and needs thinking her life is centered around his. And each time his guess about the concept of his wive’s thought process was proved wrong since he didn’t give a try and spend any time to understand her.

How property can stand in the way of long time and strongly bonded relationship and vitiate the depth of it.
