Chuti or The Home Coming is an interesting story written by the very famous Rabindranath Tagore. Explanation: The story revolves around a young boy who is in his teens and is confused about his life problems. His awkwardness is described beautifully.

सुभाषिनी नाम की ऐसी लड़की की कहानी जो बोल नहीं सकती, इसलिए उसकी मित्रता भी मूक प्राणियों से अधिक है जिसे बोलने वाले समाज से हमेशा निरादर ही प्राप्त हुआ।

यह कहानी एक बेहद शरारती लकड़े पाठक की है| जिसकी शरारतों से तंग हो,उसकी मां उसे मामा के संग भेज देती हैं। शुरुआत में तो पाठक नई जगह जाने के उत्साह में राज़ी हो जाता है लेकिन वहां घर और अपने लोगों से दूरी पाठक के लिए असहनीय हो जाती है और वह घर वापसी के उपाय करता है।

महामाया और राजीव लोचन बचपन के साथी हैं। राजीव महामाया से प्रेम करता है किंतु एक दिन महामाया और राजीव को साथ देख महामाया का भाई उसका विवाह एक मरनासन्न बूढ़े से करवा देता है, जिसके अगले ही दिन महामाया विधवा हो जाती है तथा किसी तरह सती प्रथा के नाम पर जलती हुई चिता से बचकर भागने में सफल हो जाती है। वह राजीव के साथ इस शर्त पर रहना मंजूर करती है कि वह जीवन भर उसका अवगुंठन नहीं हटाएगा। एक रात राजीव खुद को रोक नहीं पाता और महामाया को हमेशा के लिए खो देता है।

 “Poyla Nombor” is a story of an educated man who didn’t give any time recognizing wife’s wants and needs thinking her life is centered around his. And each time his guess about the concept of his wive’s thought process was proved wrong since he didn’t give a try and spend any time to understand her.

“Patro o Patri” is a story of a boy whose mom wanted to fix his marriage with a little girl before he goes to college. The marriage has been discarded by his father. But the process of negotiations revealed the fact that even 14 years old boy’s imagination of marital relationship was revolving around the same expectation, attention and control  towards his baby wife that he experienced in his father’s behavior pattern all through his life in spite of being a modern boy and raised independent.

A superstitious man believed that the only purpose of having wife is to ensure his future heir. 

He quit his pregnant wife as his maid made a big issue about her character while playing cards with her friends and relatives. 

The irony is that many years later when during famine his wife and only son came to him asking for food, he turned them down. But his whole life has been spent in marrying many ladies and pleasing the priests spending enormous amount of money for the sake of having his own kids as a future generation.

How property can stand in the way of long time and strongly bonded relationship and vitiate the depth of it.

बेहद भावुक कर देने वाली मनु भंडारी जी के द्वारा लिखी गई कहानी जिसमें समाज बीमार व्यक्ति की चिंता करता है किंतु उस व्यक्ति का कोई ख्याल नहीं रखता जो उसकी दिन-रात सेवा करता है कहानी में अम्मा जो अपने खाने-पीने और सोने का ध्यान ना रखते हुए अपने अपने कैंसर से पीड़ित बीमार पति की दिन-रात सेवा करती है उनके पति की मृत्यु हो जाती है तब भी क्या किसी का ध्यान अम्मा के ऊपर जाता है जानते हैं आरती श्रीवास्तव की आवाज में कहानी मुक्ति
