 “Poyla Nombor” is a story of an educated man who didn’t give any time recognizing wife’s wants and needs thinking her life is centered around his. And each time his guess about the concept of his wive’s thought process was proved wrong since he didn’t give a try and spend any time to understand her.

A superstitious man believed that the only purpose of having wife is to ensure his future heir. 

He quit his pregnant wife as his maid made a big issue about her character while playing cards with her friends and relatives. 

The irony is that many years later when during famine his wife and only son came to him asking for food, he turned them down. But his whole life has been spent in marrying many ladies and pleasing the priests spending enormous amount of money for the sake of having his own kids as a future generation.

The story shows how the groom side of the family used to take upperhand in every area during a marriage settlement and the social custom like dowry issue sometimes goes to such extent that leads to death, exploitation and mental torture. In this occasion the bride ultimately died as a result of this social customary evil. 

“Ginni” is a story of the frustration and a feeling of failure of a student as he is victimized by his teacher himself in the form of name calling. 

“Patro o Patri” is a story of a boy whose mom wanted to fix his marriage with a little girl before he goes to college. The marriage has been discarded by his father. But the process of negotiations revealed the fact that even 14 years old boy’s imagination of marital relationship was revolving around the same expectation, attention and control  towards his baby wife that he experienced in his father’s behavior pattern all through his life in spite of being a modern boy and raised independent.

Khata” is a story of a girl who in those days got the opportunity of schooling while women’s education was not that very common. The little girl was enthusiastically writing everywhere that was not very much appreciated by his brother as she was messing up his writing notebook. Once she got married she was taunted and prevented from writing by her sister-in-law and her husband who had himself a strong passion for writing. At the end she was forced to stop writing. Her fate was bound to surrender herself to the hostile situation.
