“Chitrokor” is a story of a solvent housewife, a mom whose life is dedicated in pursuing creative art as part of her hobby. She got her husband in support of her passion. But after her husband’s death the relative whose house she was sheltered, used to believe in materialism. And he used to preach her son that money making is the only way that’s meaningful in life. First the lady tried to live with her passion even exposing her hobby to her child hiding from the shelter giver. But when he came to know and resisted vehemently, she didn’t even hesitate to leave the house with her child for the sake of her passion on art.

The story shows how after giving a shelter to a distressed lady a distinguished man in that village was cornered and became the victim of politics which bound him to lose the legal case which led him to lose his property.

यह कहानी काबुलीवाला और 5 साल की छोटी बच्ची मिनी के बीच के अनोखे रिश्ते की कहानी है काबुलीवाला मिनी को प्रतिदिन बादाम और किशमिश दिया करता और ढेर सारी बातें करता किंतु एक प्रसंग के तहत काबुली वाले को जेल हो जाती है और जब वह वापस आता है तो उस समय मिनी बड़ी हो चुकी होती है क्या था उनके बीच का अनोखा रिश्ता जाने के लिए सुनते हैं रविंद्र नाथ टैगोर की लिखी कहानी काबुलीवाला अमित तिवारी जी की आवाज में

Two neighbors were very competitive and jealous about each other. They were not content about what they had, thinking, must be others are having better than them. The story portrays the moral, how the jealousy takes away all the peace of mind and destroys the contentment and happiness of mind in general.

Khata” is a story of a girl who in those days got the opportunity of schooling while women’s education was not that very common. The little girl was enthusiastically writing everywhere that was not very much appreciated by his brother as she was messing up his writing notebook. Once she got married she was taunted and prevented from writing by her sister-in-law and her husband who had himself a strong passion for writing. At the end she was forced to stop writing. Her fate was bound to surrender herself to the hostile situation. 

It was a path-breaking short story in form of a letter (the letter itself constitutes the whole story) which a typical Bengali upper middle-class wife “Mrinal” writes to her husband. She’s a poet, a thinker and over all a woman who dared to question, expressing bold and fervent statements with realizations coming from within the course of 15 years of her married life through letter to her husband.

भाभी ब्याह कर आई थी तो मुश्किल से 15 बरस की होगी। आजाद फिजा में पली, हिरिनयों की तरह कुलाचें भरती। चार-पाँच साल के अंदर भाभी को घिस घिसाकर वाकई सब ने ग्रहस्थन बना दिया। दो -तीन बच्चों की माँ बन कर भद्दी और ठुस्स हो गई। भैया को मेकअप ,फैशनेबल कपड़े, कटे बालों से नफरत थी ।भाभी ने भी बनना- सँवरना छोड़ दिया। लेकिन फैशनेबल शबनम को देखकर भैया मंत्रमुग्ध हो गए और भाभी को तलाक देकर उसे अपनी बेगम बना लिया। कुछ ही सालों में शबनम भी वैसे ही फैल गई। भैया एक बार फिर मिस्री रक्कासा पर फिदा हो गए दूसरी नई- नवेली लचकती हुई लहर, उनकी पथरीली बाँहों में समाने के लिए बेचैन और बेकरार थी।

उर्वशी एक आधुनिक लड़की है जो होशियार होने के साथ ही जीवन में कुछ कर दिखाने की चाहत रखती है। प्रेम विवाह कर पति से उपेक्षित होने के बाद भी उसने हिम्मत न हारते हुए अपनी जिंदगी में कुछ कर दिखाने की चाहत को पूरा करने का प्रयास किया जिसमें उसकी खूबसूरती ही उसके लिए सबसे बड़ी बाधा बन गई। उसकी जिंदगी एक कटी पतंग की तरह झूलने लगी।
