Awoman with great look, good taste was still not getting the attention from her husband. Each day the distance was impacting huge among their relationship that prompted the lady to  leave her house.

The story shows how the groom side of the family used to take upperhand in every area during a marriage settlement and the social custom like dowry issue sometimes goes to such extent that leads to death, exploitation and mental torture. In this occasion the bride ultimately died as a result of this social customary evil.

The irony is that many years later when during famine his wife and only son came to him asking for food, he turned them down. But his whole life has been spent in marrying many ladies and pleasing the priests spending enormous amount of money for the sake of having his own kids as a future generation.

कहानी यह दर्शाती है कि चाहे सत्ता की लड़ाई हो ,दो देशों के बीच की लड़ाई हो, या अपने अपने ईगो की लड़ाई हो, सत्ता धारियों को कोई फ़र्क नहीं पड़ता बल्कि इस बात का खामियाजा़ एक आम आदमी ही उठाता है। इस कहानी में लेखक ने दो मित्रों को के द्वारा बेवज़ह मारे जाने वाले लोगों का उल्लेख किया है। वह दो मित्र जो फ्रांस में रह रहे हैं और किस तरह भुखमरी गरीबी और तकलीफ़ से गुजर रहे हैं और किस तरह इस लड़ाई में मारे जाते हैं ?दो मित्रों को केंद्र बनाकर लेखक ने बेवज़ह मारी जा रही जनता का मार्मिक वर्णन किया है,जिसे नयनी दीक्षित ने उसे उतनी ही भाव प्रधान आवाज़ में पेश किया है।
